Spanish Hill Susquehannocks

Louise Welles Murray was fascinated and captivated by the large skeletons she and her family found in the Murray gardens and elsewhere in Athens PA. Murray's intense research and meticulous referencing made her well respected among the professional scholars of the day. While she wrote several pieces concerning these "Susquehannocks" (otherwise called the Andastes) this website would not be complete without adding excerpts from her "Old Tioga Point and Early Athens" masterpiece, as it relates to this topic.
FYI - This book is available to purchase from the Tioga Point Museum, click here to contact them. It is a huge wealth of information concerning this area's local history,(656 pages).
